Museum Lates - From Sketch to Street

Join us after hours for the exciting opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of car design, based around the Museum’s ground-breaking exhibition ‘From Sketch to Street’. This insightful Museum Lates event will include exclusive after hours access to the Museum and 'From Sketch to Street' exhibition space, as well as a brand new evening talk: Ciao Inghilterra! How British cars got Italian style.

The ‘From Sketch to Street’ exhibition showcases the creative and technical processes behind iconic and innovative vehicles across Britain’s motor manufacturing past through five key themes: interior design, exterior design, functional design, materials and trim, and future of design. Visitors will be able to unpick the processes and people behind the cars and see how their own design ideas could shape the future. 

Don’t miss this chance to gain a unique insight into the process of car design, and listen to a fascinating talk on the evolution of British automotive style.

A delicious two course meal is included as part of the Museum Lates: From Sketch to Street event, the menu for which is as follows:

Main courses

  • Beef and ale pie with colcannon mash, Savoy cabbage leeks and peas (gf)
  • Butternut squash, chestnut mushroom and sage crumble with colcannon mash, savoy cabbage leeks and peas (ve) (gf)

A Selection of Mini Deserts

  • Cherry and sultana flapjack

  • Chocolate fudge brownie

Schedule for the evening

17:30 - You are invited to arrive via the Main Museum building and freely explore the Museum’s collection as well as the From Sketch to Street exhibition, all within the Museum’s main building. In the exhibition space, our knowledgeable explainers and members of the Museum’s Curatorial Team will be on hand to answer questions and provide even more insight into the features of the display.

19:00 - Dinner and drinks will be served on the Museum Gallery.

17:30 - 20:00 - Following dinner, you’ll be able to attend our talk: Ciao Inghilterra! How British cars got Italian style

21:00 - The event closes.

Tickets

Tickets are £20 per person, which includes your evening experience, as well as drinks, a main course, and pudding enjoyed on the Museum Gallery.

Premium Members & Members

The ticket price for Members is £16, and for Premium Members just £11. Tap the button below with your membership number at hand to take advantage of your exclusive membership price. Please note that tickets for this event must be booked in advance of the event date, 11 Feb 2025.

All proceeds from the event will support the vital work of the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust. Please note that this event is running outside of regular Museum opening hours, so Annual Passes are not valid for entry.
