Evening with Ian Callum

Join us here at the British Motor Museum for an exclusive evening, hearing from a legend in the world of British car design: Ian Callum CBE!

Ian Callum CBE has been in the business for more than 50 years, 20 of those spent as Design Director for Jaguar, and now focusing on design projects that excite him, within and beyond the automotive industry. Creations to date include: the Jaguar C-X75, F-Type, F-PACE, and I-PACE, the Aston Martin Vanquish and DB7, Ford Puma and Escort Cosworth to name a few!

Joining Ian talking about all things car design will be Paul Cowland, Presenter of Salvage Hunters: Classic Cars and Motor Picker, Writer, Producer, self-described car hoarder and 'decidedly average' Racing Driver. Ian and Paul will be sharing their insight, tales and industry knowledge while surrounded by some of the most iconic cars that Ian has been involved in designing.

Order of the Evening

Guests are invited to arrive at the Museum from 5.15pm onwards, entering through the Main entrance. Upon arrival, refreshments will be served in the Welcome Gallery, with the opportunity to take a look around the Museum’s collection. During the course of the evening, you’ll be treated to up-close access to a number of vehicles from Ian’s extensive design catalogue, including the stunning Jaguar C-X75.

From 6.30pm enjoy a delicious hot buffet-style supper, served on the first-floor Gallery. You will also be able to buy drinks from the bar.

At 7.30pm guests will be invited into the Conference Suite ready for the main event, starting at around 8pm. Ian will begin with a talk on history, design philosophy and life in cars. Following a 15 minute interval, Ian and Paul will then host a design masterclass, including a walkaround and discussion of some of Ian’s ‘greatest hits. There will then be an exciting opportunity to pick the brains of both Ian and Paul in an audience Q&A, before the evening comes to a close at 11pm.

To top off what is set to be a fantastic evening, you’ll be supporting two great causes through the purchase of your ticket. Ian and Paul will both be donating their fees for the evening to the Teenage Cancer Trust, and all other proceeds will go towards helping to fund the vital work of the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust - the charity behind the British Motor Museum.
